We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Assessment Team in South Tyneside. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of children and families to ensure their safety and well-being.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
Undertaking initial assessments and investigations to identify risks and needs of children and families. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with other professionals and agencies. Conducting home visits and interviews to gather information and assess the situation of children in need of support. Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive outcomes for children. Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to advocate for the best interests of children.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker with a relevant social work degree and HCPC registration. Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding within a social work setting. Strong assessment and analytical skills to make informed decisions about the welfare of children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and professionals effectively. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Additional requirements for this role include a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel within the community.
