We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Looked After Children team in Wolverhampton. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and intervention to children and young people who are in the care of the local authority.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Undertaking assessments and reviews to ensure the welfare and safety of looked after children
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and relevant stakeholders
  • Providing direct support and guidance to children and young people in care, advocating on their behalf
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and case conferences to coordinate services and support
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Work (QSW) status and registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience working with looked after children and young people in a social work setting
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with external agencies

In addition to the essential qualifications and skills, candidates with experience in court work and permanency planning will be highly regarded.
