Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Contact & Assessment Team. In this pivotal role, you will lead assessments and interventions for children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes. Your expertise will guide a team of social workers in delivering high-quality support and safeguarding practices, working collaboratively with various stakeholders to address the needs of vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families, identifying risks and needs.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in collaboration with service users and multi-agency partners.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with legislation and policy.
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and assessment work.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with families and professionals.
