Children's SSW - Duty & Assessment Team - Walsall
Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment Team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our community. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, managing cases, and working collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for children in need.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of children and families.
 - Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with families and relevant agencies.
 - Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
 - Providing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make positive changes.
 - Working closely with schools, health services, and other stakeholders to coordinate services.
 - Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements.
 
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
 - Registration with Social Work England.
 - Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention.
 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
 - Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's social care.
 - Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
