Telford and Wrekin Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified professional to make a significant impact in the lives of vulnerable families within our community. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children while working collaboratively with families to promote positive change.

As a Senior Social Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families and other professionals. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Engaging with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding. Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding work. Strong analytical skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and colleagues.
