Adults Social Worker | Safeguarding Adults (SGA) Hub, Mental Health Team | Ealing Council

Rate: Up to £36 per hour (umbrella) | Hybrid working (3 days office-based) | 35 hours per week

Caritas Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join Ealing Council's Safeguarding Adults (SGA) Hub, working within the Mental Health Social Care Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and knowledgeable practitioner with strong legal understanding and a passion for safeguarding vulnerable adults. The role focuses on managing complex enquiries, ensuring robust risk management, and achieving positive outcomes for residents with mental health needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Safeguarding Enquiry Officer, undertaking Section 42 enquiries in line with the Care Act 2014.

  • Work collaboratively with the Mental Health Safeguarding Adults Lead to manage risk and ensure individual safeguarding outcomes are met.

  • Screen and respond to incoming safeguarding referrals, providing timely and effective interventions.

  • Engage with service users, carers, and multi-agency partners to promote safety, wellbeing, and independence.

  • Apply a strength-based approach, ensuring decisions are legally sound and proportionate.

  • Maintain accurate case recording and meet agreed team timescales and performance standards.


What We're Looking For

  • Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration.

  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualified experience within adult social care or mental health services.

  • Solid understanding of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), Mental Health Act (1983, amended 2007), and Human Rights Act (1998).

  • Strong analytical and assessment skills with demonstrable professional curiosity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with confidence in multi-agency partnership work.

  • Driving licence desirable but not essential.

  • Right to Work in the UK (please note sponsorship is not available).


Role Details

Rate: Up to £36 per hour (umbrella)
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Location: Perceval House, Ealing Broadway
Working Pattern: Hybrid - minimum 3 days office-based
Duration: Ongoing temporary assignment
Equipment: Laptop provided (collection required)
