Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Tameside Council is seeking a motivated individual to join our Children's Social Work Safeguarding Team. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children within our community.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments of children and families in need of support and intervention.
  • Developing and implementing care plans to address the specific needs of children and their families.
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, documentation, and reports.
  • Participating in regular supervision and team meetings to enhance professional development and share best practices.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in children's social work, particularly within safeguarding.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in children's safeguarding.
