Coventry - QSW - Emergency duty team (EDT) Team
Are you a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker looking for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families in crisis? Coventry City Council is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Emergency Duty Team (EDT). This role is crucial in providing immediate support and intervention outside of regular office hours, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals in our community.
As a member of the EDT, your key responsibilities will include:
- Responding to urgent referrals and safeguarding concerns, conducting assessments in high-pressure situations.
- Providing crisis intervention and support to children, young people, and adults in need.
- Collaborating with other agencies, including police and health services, to ensure a coordinated response to emergencies.
- Documenting and maintaining accurate case records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Participating in out-of-hours on-call duties as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to service delivery.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Demonstrable experience in a social work role, particularly in child protection or adult safeguarding.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable populations.
