We are looking for passionate and dedicated Refuge Workers to join our team in Leicester, providing life-changing support to survivors of domestic violence and abuse.

Role Overview:

Refuge Worker - Leicester (Female Only)

Part-Time Weekend Role (Saturday and Sunday, 9am-4pm)
13 Hours per Week | Permanent Position

As a Refuge Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. This is a weekend position, where you will provide practical, emotional, and holistic assistance through risk assessments, safety planning, and ongoing support. You will be a vital member of a team working together to help survivors move towards safety and recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert support to victims of domestic violence and abuse, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Conduct in-depth risk assessments and create individual safety plans for high-risk clients.
  • Offer practical and emotional support to survivors, helping them navigate through difficult circumstances.
  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Support individuals affected by complex issues such as substance misuse, mental health challenges, homelessness, and sexual abuse.

Essential Requirements:

  • Female only (as per the nature of the role).
  • Must have access to your own vehicle and hold a full UK driving license.
  • An active DBS on the update service (or willingness to undergo one).
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable adults, ideally in domestic violence or related fields.
  • Compassionate, resilient, and proactive approach to supporting individuals in crisis.
