We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Senior Practitioner to join our Duty Team in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of social workers, ensuring that high-quality services are delivered to children at risk and their families.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and overseeing complex cases, providing expert guidance and support to social work staff.
  • Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans to safeguard children and promote their welfare.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to service delivery.
  • Providing supervision and mentoring to junior staff, fostering their professional development.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of practice and service delivery within the Duty Team.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in children's social work, including direct practice with children in need and safeguarding.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to partnership working.
