Mental Health Senior Practitioner

Location: East Sussex
Rate: £40.00 per hour
Contract: Initial 3 Months
Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Mental Health Senior Practitioner to join a dedicated Adult Social Care service in East Sussex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled Social Work professional to take on a senior role managing complex mental health cases, providing specialist expertise, supporting colleagues and contributing to the delivery of high-quality services for adults with mental health needs.

The Role

As a Senior Practitioner, you will manage a complex caseload and provide leadership, guidance and supervision to other practitioners within the team. You will work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure effective safeguarding, assessment, support planning and service delivery for adults requiring support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex cases involving assessment, support planning, commissioning and review of care packages.
  • Providing supervision, mentoring and support to Social Workers, students and other team members.
  • Undertaking safeguarding work and supporting colleagues with complex safeguarding interventions.
  • Leading on practice development and service improvement initiatives.
  • Working closely with health partners, community services and other agencies.
  • Completing high-quality assessments, reports and court documentation where required.
  • Supporting the implementation of evidence-based practice and professional development within the team.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience within Adult Social Care and Mental Health services.
  • Experience managing complex cases and risk.
  • Strong assessment, safeguarding and decision-making skills.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring practitioners.
  • Excellent partnership working and communication skills.

For Mental Health services, AMHP status or recent AMHP practice is highly desirable.
