Children's SW - Safeguarding Team - London Borough of Havering
The London Borough of Havering is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Safeguarding Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and families within our community. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children, working collaboratively with families, and engaging with various stakeholders to promote positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks, ensuring that all safeguarding concerns are addressed promptly.
- Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with local policies and statutory regulations.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategy discussions to ensure the best outcomes for children.
- Providing support and guidance to families, helping them access services and resources to improve their circumstances.
To be considered for this position, candidates must hold a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. Essential skills include:
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on building rapport with children and families.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
- Experience in safeguarding practices and a thorough understanding of child protection legislation.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and manage a diverse caseload.
