Join our dedicated Children’s Social Work - Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team in Doncaster, where you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable children and young people. As a Social Worker in the UASC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of the needs and risks faced by unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Providing emotional and practical support to children and young people, helping them navigate the complexities of the asylum process.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Engaging with external agencies, including legal representatives and community organizations, to ensure holistic support for the children.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working with children and young people, particularly in a social work context.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
