The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection team on a permanent fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop intervention plans, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality support to families in need.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.

Join our dedicated team in Doncaster as a Qualified Social Worker specializing in Children's Safeguarding, Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Looked After Children (LAC). We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to contribute to the welfare and protection of children within our community. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families and other professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing, implementing, and reviewing care plans in line with statutory requirements. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated support services. Managing a caseload of children and families, ensuring timely interventions. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with local authority policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in safeguarding, CIN, CP, and LAC settings. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships.
