The City of Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Child Protection team on a permanent fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead assessments, develop intervention plans, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality support to families in need.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective child protection plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with statutory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
