Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. As a Children’s Social Worker in the MASH Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and managing complex cases involving children and families.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to gather information and develop effective intervention strategies.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring their needs are met and rights are upheld.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records in accordance with local and national policies.
  • Participating in safeguarding meetings and contributing to the development of child protection plans.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied caseload effectively.
