Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker (SSW) to join our Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified social workers who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families. In this role, you will work collaboratively with various agencies to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in our community.
As a Children’s Social Worker in the MASH Team, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and managing complex cases involving children and families. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to gather information and develop effective intervention strategies. Providing support and guidance to families, ensuring their needs are met and rights are upheld. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records in accordance with local and national policies. Participating in safeguarding meetings and contributing to the development of child protection plans.To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, families, and professionals.
