The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Assessment & MASH Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families within our community. Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and risks in collaboration with families and other professionals.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans to support children and families.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the MASH process to ensure timely and appropriate responses to safeguarding concerns.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national standards.
  • Providing advice and support to families, ensuring they are empowered to make positive changes.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
