Children's SW - Safeguarding Team - Shropshire

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Safeguarding Team in Shropshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in need. Your primary focus will be on assessing the needs of children and families, developing and implementing care plans, and providing support and intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Conducting assessments and investigations into child protection concerns
  • Working collaboratively with families, colleagues, and partner agencies to develop and implement care plans
  • Attending case conferences and court hearings to provide evidence and recommendations
  • Delivering direct work with children and young people to build trust and facilitate positive outcomes
  • Participating in team meetings, training sessions, and supervision to enhance professional development

The successful candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification and HCPC registration
  • Demonstrated experience in child protection and safeguarding work within a statutory setting
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with children, families, and professionals
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage complex cases, and prioritize workload effectively
