The Isle of Wight is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children & Families team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, welfare, and development of children and young people in our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead and support a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality care and support for families facing challenges. Your expertise will contribute to the effective management of cases and the implementation of best practices in social work.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families, children, and other professionals. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and timely case records and documentation in accordance with legal and organisational standards. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding initiatives.To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
