The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic Children & Families team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of providing high-quality support and intervention to vulnerable children and their families, ensuring their safety and well-being while promoting positive outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
Assessing the needs of children and families through comprehensive evaluations and developing tailored support plans. Conducting home visits and engaging with families to provide guidance, support, and intervention as needed. Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding and welfare. Managing a caseload effectively, ensuring timely and accurate documentation and reporting. Providing supervision and mentorship to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in children and families social work, including knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices. Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
