BANES - Senior Social Worker - Safeguarding Team

Join the Bath and North East Somerset (BANES) Council as a Senior Social Worker in our Safeguarding Team, where you will play a crucial role in protecting vulnerable individuals and enhancing their wellbeing. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and adults at risk, identifying their needs and potential risks.
  • Developing and implementing safeguarding plans in partnership with service users and their families.
  • Providing expert advice and support to junior social workers and other team members.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local and national standards.
  • Engaging with multi-agency teams to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Participating in training and development initiatives to enhance team knowledge and skills.

To be considered for this role, you must possess a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. A minimum of three years of post-qualification experience in safeguarding or child protection is essential. You should also have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in safeguarding.
