Children's Protection Advisor - Aylesbury

This role is vital in ensuring the safety and well-being of children in our community, providing expert guidance and support to families, and collaborating with various agencies to uphold child protection standards.

As a Children's Protection Advisor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children's needs and risks, ensuring that all relevant information is accurately documented.
  • Developing and implementing effective child protection plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners.
  • Providing expert advice and support to social workers and other professionals on child protection matters.
  • Participating in case conferences and court proceedings, presenting evidence and recommendations clearly and confidently.
  • Ensuring compliance with local and national safeguarding policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A relevant degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
  • Registered with Social Work England (SWE) and a minimum of two years’ experience in child protection or safeguarding.
  • Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding legislation, and best practices in child welfare.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Proficient in case management software and documentation practices.
