We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Adoption Team in Wolverhampton. This vital role will involve working with children and families throughout the adoption process, ensuring that every child finds a loving and supportive home. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, engage with prospective adopters, and provide guidance and support to children and families during this transformative journey.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of prospective adopters to ensure suitability and readiness for adoption.
  • Working closely with children in care, providing them with emotional support and advocacy throughout the adoption process.
  • Preparing and presenting comprehensive reports for adoption panels.
  • Facilitating training and workshops for prospective adopters to enhance their understanding of the adoption process.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, including health and education services, to create holistic support plans for children.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant Social Work qualification (BA/MA Social Work, DipSW or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Demonstrable experience in children's social work, particularly in adoption or fostering.
  • Strong understanding of child development and attachment theory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
