We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Herefordshire Child Protection/Children in Need Team on a permanent basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and families in need within the Herefordshire area.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Undertaking assessments and developing care plans for children and families in crisis situations
  • Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote their welfare
  • Conducting home visits, interviews, and case conferences to gather information and make informed decisions
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to families to address issues and improve outcomes for children
  • Participating in court proceedings and representing the local authority in legal matters

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA, MA, or Diploma in Social Work)
  • Registered with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience working within a Child Protection/Children in Need Team
  • Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex caseloads
