We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Assistant Practitioner (AP) to join our Social Care and Partnership (SCP) Team in Middlesbrough. This role is pivotal in supporting the delivery of high-quality social work services to children and families, ensuring their safety and well-being. As an AP, you will work alongside experienced social workers, contributing to assessments, interventions, and support plans tailored to the needs of children in our care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the assessment and review of children’s needs and circumstances.
  • Supporting social workers in the development and implementation of care plans.
  • Building trusting relationships with children and families to facilitate effective communication.
  • Conducting home visits and participating in multi-agency meetings.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant degree in Social Work, Youth Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and families in a social care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when required.
