We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Family Support and Safeguarding Team in Newham. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Children’s Social Worker, you will engage with families to provide support, guidance, and intervention in challenging situations, working collaboratively with various agencies to safeguard vulnerable children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with families and relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing direct support and interventions to families to promote positive outcomes for children.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in accordance with local authority policies.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and family support.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
