Social Worker - Children & Young People's Disability Service (CYPDS)

Caritas Recruitment is working with Camden Council to recruit an experienced Social Worker to join their Children and Young People's Disability Service (CYPDS).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a specialist 0-25 service supporting disabled children, young people and their families through childhood, transition and preparation for adulthood. The team works across health, education, housing and the voluntary sector to deliver coordinated, person-centred support that promotes positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a varied caseload of disabled children and young people, undertaking assessments, planning and interventions.
  • Complete Child in Need, Child Protection, Children Looked After, PLO and court-related work.
  • Carry out direct work with children and young people, ensuring their voices remain central to assessment and planning.
  • Develop and review outcome-focused support plans with families and professionals.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners across education, health and social care.
  • Support transition planning and Preparation for Adulthood for young people approaching adulthood.
  • Apply relevant legislation, safeguarding procedures and professional judgement in complex situations.
  • Maintain accurate case recording and ensure statutory timescales are met.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration.
  • Post-qualifying experience within statutory Children's Services.
  • Experience of undertaking assessments, safeguarding and care planning.
  • Knowledge of Child in Need, Child Protection and Children Looked After processes.
  • Experience working with disabled children, young people or families is desirable.
  • Strong communication, analytical and multi-agency working skills.
