Senior Social Worker - Children's Assessment Service (CAS Central)

Caritas Recruitment is currently supporting Oxfordshire Children's Services with the appointment of an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Children's Assessment Service (CAS Central).
This is a frontline assessment role within the Front Door Service, working with children and families at the point of referral to assess risk, identify needs, and determine the most appropriate support and intervention. The successful candidate will have strong experience completing statutory assessments and safeguarding investigations within Children's Social Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake Section 17 Child & Family Assessments.
- Complete Section 47 Child Protection Enquiries.
- Assess risk and identify safeguarding concerns.
- Manage a varied caseload of children and families.
- Prepare high-quality assessments, reports and recommendations.
- Participate in duty and respond to new referrals.
- Attend Child Protection Conferences, Child in Need Meetings and multi-agency forums.
- Work closely with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children.
- Ensure the child's voice is central to all assessments and planning.
Requirements
- Social Work England registration.
- Experience within a Children's Assessment, Duty & Assessment, Front Door or Safeguarding Team.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory processes.
- Confident undertaking Section 17 and Section 47 work.
- Excellent assessment, analysis and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-agency environment.
