We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding team in Preston, Lancashire. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead on complex cases, providing expert guidance and support to social work staff while engaging with families to promote positive change.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children's needs and risks, developing and implementing effective intervention plans. Leading multi-agency meetings and collaborating with partners to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding. Providing supervision and mentorship to junior social workers, fostering their professional development. Maintaining accurate and timely case records in compliance with local policies and procedures. Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in family safeguarding practices.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with families and professionals alike.
