We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Tower Hamlets Children With Disabilities Team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality social work services to children and families in need, with a focus on those facing disabilities.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Undertaking assessments and developing care plans for children with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met and their well-being is safeguarded.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as healthcare providers and educational staff, to provide holistic support to children and families.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make informed decisions and access appropriate services.
  • Participating in case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings as required, advocating for the best interests of the children.
  • Supervising and supporting junior staff members, contributing to their professional development and growth.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid HCPC registration.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children with disabilities and their families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
