Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Carers Assessment and Review Team (CART). This pivotal role involves supporting unpaid carers in their vital contributions to our communities. You will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, developing support plans, and ensuring that the needs of carers are met effectively and compassionately.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of the needs of carers and their families.
  • Developing and reviewing support plans in collaboration with carers and other professionals.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to junior staff and volunteers within the team.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with local policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with health and social care professionals to enhance service delivery.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a relevant social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for supporting carers.
