Shropshire Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Social Work - Duty & Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families within our community. As part of our dynamic team, you will engage in assessments, support planning, and intervention strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families and other professionals. Providing advice, support, and guidance to families, ensuring they receive the necessary resources. Working closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children and promote their welfare. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation in compliance with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, particularly in assessment and intervention. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
