The London Borough of Croydon is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team. This role is pivotal in providing support to children and young people with disabilities and their families. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for our service users, promoting their well-being and safeguarding their rights.

As a Qualified Social Worker in the CWD Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing tailored care plans that promote the welfare and development of children with disabilities.
  • Providing ongoing support and advice to families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
  • Collaborating with health professionals, educators, and other agencies to coordinate care and support.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Engaging in regular supervision and training to enhance professional development and practice.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
