The Isle of Wight is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Children & Families team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, welfare, and development of children and young people in our community. As a Senior Social Worker, you will lead and support a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality care and support for families facing challenges. Your expertise will contribute to the effective management of cases and the implementation of best practices in social work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with families, children, and other professionals.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior social workers, fostering their professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records and documentation in accordance with legal and organisational standards.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding initiatives.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex cases.
