Children's SW - UASC Team - Staffordshire
Join our dedicated Children's Social Work - Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team in Staffordshire, where you will play a vital role in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in our community. As a Qualified Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of unaccompanied minors and ensuring they receive the care, support, and protection they deserve. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of the needs of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children.
- Developing and implementing tailored care plans that address individual needs and promote positive outcomes.
- Collaborating with various stakeholders, including schools, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to ensure holistic support.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to children and their families, facilitating access to essential services.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Experience working with children and young people, particularly those from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in child protection and welfare.
