Join the dedicated team at Worcestershire County Council as a Social Worker in our Looked After Children Team. We are seeking a passionate and committed individual to provide high-quality support and interventions for children and young people in care. In this role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and partner agencies to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify their needs and develop tailored care plans. Building trusting relationships with children and young people, advocating for their rights and best interests. Working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to monitor and review the progress of children in care. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of innovative solutions for complex cases.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after context. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
