We are seeking a dedicated and experienced LAC/CIC Social Worker to join our team in Peterborough, offering a competitive rate of £39 per hour. This role is vital in supporting Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Care (CIC) to ensure their welfare and development are prioritized. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality assessments, planning, and interventions that meet the diverse needs of children and families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Providing direct support to children and their families, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with LAC/CIC and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable children and families.
