We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Permanent Children's Head of Service (HOS) to join our dynamic team at Compass. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing the operational management of children's services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards.
  • Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of social workers and practitioners to deliver effective interventions and outcomes for children and families.
  • Developing and implementing strategic plans to improve service quality, performance, and outcomes.
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders, including local authorities, health services, and community organizations to promote integrated service delivery.
  • Monitoring and evaluating service performance, utilizing data to inform decision-making and drive improvements.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills including:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in children's social work, with a proven track record in management or leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy frameworks, and best practices in children's social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence a range of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
