Walsall Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Family Safeguarding Team. As a vital member of our team, you will work collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children while promoting positive family dynamics.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding strategies.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, helping them to access resources and services.

To be considered for this role, you must possess a recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and be registered with Social Work England. You should also have:

  • Experience in child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with families.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the capacity to manage a diverse caseload effectively.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for improving outcomes for children and families.
