Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children’s Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Children’s Services (CSW) Team. This role is vital in providing support and safeguarding to children and families in our community. As a Children’s Social Worker, you will work collaboratively with families to assess their needs and deliver tailored interventions that promote the well-being and safety of children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families and other professionals.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of casework and interventions in accordance with local policies and statutory requirements.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to child protection conferences.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registration with Social Work England (SWE).
  • Demonstrated experience working within children’s services and a solid understanding of child protection legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex situations and make informed decisions.
