We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Assistant Practitioner (AP) to join our Children in Care (CIC) Team in Coventry. This role is essential in supporting vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. As a Children’s AP, you will work closely with social workers and other professionals to deliver high-quality services that make a positive impact on the lives of children in care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting social workers in assessing the needs of children and families, providing valuable insights and support.
  • Engaging with children and young people to build trusting relationships, facilitating their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of care plans, ensuring that the individual needs of each child are met.
  • Monitoring and documenting the progress of children in care, reporting any concerns to the relevant authorities.
  • Participating in team meetings, contributing to case discussions, and sharing best practices.

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A relevant qualification in social work, childcare, or a related field (e.g., Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Care, Learning and Development).
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly in a social work or care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and adults.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
