Waltham Forest is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Assessment & Intervention Team on an umbrella contract basis at a competitive rate of £39.04 per hour. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families in our community. As a Senior Practitioner, you will lead assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide guidance to social work staff while maintaining high standards of practice.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing intervention plans in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners.
  • Providing supervision and support to junior practitioners and ensuring adherence to safeguarding policies.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of casework and contributing to team meetings and reviews.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals to promote best practices and improve service delivery.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant experience in children’s social work, particularly within assessment and intervention settings.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
