We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Durham. As an IRO, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in care, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
Key responsibilities and duties of the Children's IRO position include:
- Conducting reviews of care plans to ensure they are in the best interests of the child
- Attending meetings and case conferences to represent the child's views
- Providing support and guidance to social workers and other professionals involved in the child's care
- Making recommendations for improvements in care plans and services
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and policies
The essential qualifications and skills for this role include:
- Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration
- Experience working in a similar role within children's services
