Wolverhampton - Lead Practitioner - Child Protection Team
Wolverhampton City Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Practitioner to join our Child Protection Team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a team of social workers to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community. Your expertise will be crucial in providing guidance, managing complex cases, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supervising a team of social workers, providing mentorship and support.
- Managing a caseload of complex child protection cases, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Conducting assessments and developing intervention plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Facilitating team meetings and case discussions to promote best practices and share knowledge.
- Engaging with external agencies and stakeholders to ensure a multi-agency approach to child welfare.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Current Social Work England registration.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaborative working.
