Children's IRO - Nottingham
Join our dedicated team in Nottingham as a Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO). We are seeking a passionate and experienced qualified social worker who is committed to advocating for the best interests of children and young people in care. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting independent reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
- Facilitating meetings and consultations with children, families, and professionals to gather feedback and insights.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding standards.
- Providing expert advice and guidance to social work teams to enhance practice and policy.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of reviews and action plans.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker status with a relevant degree (e.g., Social Work, DipSW, CQSW).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in children’s social work, with a focus on care proceedings and IRO responsibilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
- A thorough understanding of current legislation, policies, and best practices in child welfare.
