Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify their needs and develop tailored care plans.
  • Building trusting relationships with children and young people, advocating for their rights and best interests.
  • Working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to monitor and review the progress of children in care.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and safeguarding policies, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of innovative solutions for complex cases.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience working with children and families, particularly in a looked-after context.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively.
