Southend - Perm Social Worker - LAC

We are currently seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) team in Southend on a permanent basis. In this role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and various stakeholders to ensure the best outcomes for vulnerable children in our care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing care plans for children in the LAC system.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and foster carers to support their needs and promote positive outcomes.
  • Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including education, health, and other social services.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local policies and procedures.
  • Participating in court proceedings and providing evidence as required.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working in a LAC or child protection setting.
  • Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
