The role
As a Social Worker within the UASC Team, you will:
- Manage your own caseload of unaccompanied children and young people.
- Complete statutory social work duties within required timescales.

- Participate in the team's duty system, responding primarily to newly arrived children.
- Support young people as they settle into life in the UK and develop their independence.
- Work with children and young people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures are followed appropriately.
- Liaise with relevant specialist services across Oxfordshire and the wider UK.
About you
The successful Social Worker will ideally have:

- Experience working with UASC, children in care or care leavers.
- Knowledge and understanding of the UK immigration and asylum system.
- Knowledge of the National Referral Mechanism (NRM).
- An understanding of the specialist services available to unaccompanied children and young people.
- The ability to manage statutory responsibilities and timescales confidently.
- Strong safeguarding and multi-agency working skills.
