Caritas Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Team Manager to join Oxfordshire Children's Services.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the leadership of a frontline team, ensuring children and families receive timely assessments, effective safeguarding interventions, and high-quality support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide line management and support to Social Workers and Children's Practitioners.
  • Support the Team Manager with service development and performance.
  • Oversee safeguarding practice, child protection planning, and legal casework.
  • Promote Oxfordshire's Family Safeguarding Plus model and group supervision approach.
  • Ensure children's plans progress effectively and within statutory timescales.
  • Maintain high standards of practice and compliance with policies and procedures.

About You

  • Social Work England registered Social Worker.
  • Strong experience within Children's Social Care and safeguarding services.
  • Sound knowledge of child protection, court work, and statutory processes.
  • Experience supporting, supervising, or leading practitioners.
  • Knowledge of the Family Safeguarding Model and Motivational Interviewing is desirable.
  • Able to build effective relationships with children, families, and partner agencies.
