Solihull Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated Youth Justice Officer to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable youth, providing support and guidance to help them navigate challenges and reintegrate into society.
As a Youth Justice Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting assessments and developing tailored intervention plans for young offenders.
- Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams, including schools, social services, and law enforcement.
- Monitoring and reviewing the progress of young people on community orders.
- Providing direct support and mentoring to young individuals, promoting positive behaviour and decision-making.
- Facilitating restorative justice processes and engaging families in the rehabilitation journey.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience in youth justice or working with vulnerable children and families.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in youth justice.
